About our Partnership for
Lifelong Learning
This Partnership is an exciting
scheme which creates awareness in the community of our local arts and
culture facilities at both of these independent venues. You can use all
of our resources for further educational and cultural benefits and enjoyment
whatever your age!
Examples of our activities
include: -
- Facilities
for parents with pre-school children for early learning and family fun,
provided by Awards for All Wales
Art
and craft workshops
- Educational art and craft workshops
covering National Curriculum requirements for 5 to 13 year olds during
term time and school holidays
- Day long workshops in a variety
of forms are also provided for adults
A range of
history and culture workshops for all ages
- Group sessions of Living History
such as Victorian Homes and Toys
- Make your own Japanware workshop
- The history of the local canals and decoration
in the canal toleware style
- All workshops adaptable for all ages and abilities
Local collections
- View our collections of artefacts and art obtained
from the local communities of Torfaen
Events and Activities
- Come along and enjoy a wide variety of special
events and activities in both venues throughout the year. See Events

Talks
- A visit from the Education Outreach Officer using
any presentation method you like, such as powerpoint, artefact handling
sessions, etc. Tailored to all ages and abilities
Tours
- Specialist guided tours for groups of the museum
- outlining the history and culture of Torfaen - booking required
Craft shops
- View our extensive range of art and craft items
for sale in the exhibitions and shops of both our venues
